A sister board

There is now a sister board which will have a bigger battery pack and it will be housed in the old bigger Otterbox.
The layout is almost the same, not a great work but perhaps considered as a work of art in some swedish schools.

Simple test of sensors

I gathered all six sensors and found out a bug in the handling of results from the generator sensor. It is quite easy to test the function, all four sensors measuring amperes are hooked up to the same 10 mOhm resistor which is fed with aproximately 1 ampere. The generator sensor will report twice as much since it is supposed to be measuring on a 5 mOhm resistor

Changes to the sensors

I hoped to run with the sensors unaltered since last season but the way I build the software for the receiver I had to make some changes. Now each sensor measuring amperes are sending 8 bytes. The sensor for the generator skips the decimal part to be able to report currents higher than 9.9 amps.

Reception up and running

I got my first reception from the part measuring the voltage. I had to separate the power from the OLED and the Zigbee module. Now the OLED is getting its supply from the 6 volts supply with a diod drop around 0.5 volts.

the complete assembly?

Some more dremel work

I had to take away the rubber support for the Ipod and use the Dremel to be able to place the batteries alongside.
I hope I have not damaged the edge next to the rubber which makes the box watertigth.

Making room

Perhaps a steady version of the board

The hardware has shrinked to a 30 * 30 mm board. If I'm lucky I don't have to do this again for some while

Buttons

I found out that the button I need probably will be very inexpensive. Most of them where around half a dollar. But I will probably go for the bigger one which costs 3 dollars. It is a bit higher than the relay so I will be able to adjust the higth from underneath.

Simplified Zigbee

I had some problems to get the Zigbee module up and running again. I set the snooze mode to off but I also had to enable the pullup for the output to behave the way I want it to.
